I start my list with a fantastic samurai-themed resource to change your weapons and armor to fit the ancient Japanese aesthetic. The great thing about Kal's Grimdark Samurai Pack is that you can complement any other Japanese Minecraft texture pack for blocks and other items! The pack also includes damaged item textures you can activate with Optifine by renaming your sword at an Anvil.
2. Japanese School

This resource pack must be one of my favorite Japanese Minecraft texture packs, thanks to its extreme attention to detail and stunning results. Japanese School is the perfect choice if you want to use it for an actual school project or explore building ideas with an oriental vibe. Additionally, you can use SEUS PTGI shaders if you're going to recreate the screenshots in your game. I'm looking forward to seeing this fantastic texture pack updated for 1.19 soon!
3. Rhines' Kitsune Mask CITs

Have you ever wished Minecraft had more options to customize your character in-game? Now you can add beautiful kitsune masks to Minecraft with this awesome custom item texture pack. Unlock any 12 wearable CIT models by renaming a carved pumpkin in an anvil with the keyword "Fox Mask" and the letter associated with a design. When modding Minecraft, the small details are just as crucial to creating your ideal world!
4. Yuushya 16x

Yuushya is a 16x texture pack with gorgeous textures featuring custom item textures plus connected textures. In addition, it features flower pots and a custom item texture catalog with 60+ decorations to unlock by renaming a slime block in an Anvil with a specific number before placing it inside an Item Frame. You can also install Yuushya Townscape featuring +800 textures to bring your Japanese Minecraft texture pack to the next level. As a side note, I also suggest downloading the foliage addon if you want to make your trees look stunning.
5. Jicklus

While you may not think at first that this is a proper Japanese Minecraft texture pack, Jicklus has a lot of potential for this purpose. This resource pack has high-quality textures that transform your world with a cozy atmosphere. We always associate with Japan if you use the Spring blossom addon to recreate the classic cherry blossoms. Furthermore, your Minecraft world will look gorgeous if you combine Jicklus with Sildur's Shaders, as the author suggests.
The Takeaway
I hope that my list helps you bring your vision to life! Whether their architecture or culture inspires you, Japan is an endless source of inspiration for many Minecraft players. I'd love to hear your comments on any projects you've been working on following their iconic aesthetic!
